The wonderful characters from Alison Atlee's novel The Typewriter Girl. This novel permeates my mind; I think about it whenever I see Victorian inspired vintage pieces, especially when they have to do with the beach. I think about it when I read anything referring to the 1800s and seaside resorts. I thought about it when I read Sanditon.
Thank you for such a beautiful novel, Alison. I owe it to you to read it again, as it's been so long!

I haven't read the book, but this is a very lovely artwork. You portrayed the couple so sweetly, and the surrounding environment is really nicely done - I particularly like the two bikes leaning against the fence. And the sunset off in the distance is nice too. Beautiful artwork. Splendidly done!
